Julotta (“Jul”: Yule; Christmas, “otta”: dawn)

Julotta are early Christmas morning church services held in Sweden. Churches in America with Swedish roots still hold these services. As a boy, I attended at least one Julotta service at our Baptist church in Cedarhome, near Stanwood, where they stopped worshipping in Swedish in the 1940s.
