Stanwood’s own Nordic store, the Uff Da Shoppe, reflects the city’s Scandinavian heritage. Norwegians, Swedes and Danes settled there in the late 19th and early 20th centuries; in 1949, 60% of the population were descended from Scandinavian settlers.
I go to the shoppe in autumn to stock on up on glögg mix for the cold winter days ahead.
